Why India is stiill a Developing Nation?
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.
Indian Version:
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
-Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.
-Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.
-Mayawati states this as `injustice' done on Minorities.
-Amnesty International and Koffi Annan criticize the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.
-The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance) .
-Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for 'Bengal Bandh' in West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.
-CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers.
-Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway Trains, aptly named as the 'Grasshopper Rath'.
-Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' Prevention of Terrorism Against grasshoppers Act' [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the winter.
-Arjun Singh makes 'Special Reservation ' for Grasshoppers in Educational Institutions & in Government Services.
The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, it's home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.
Arundhati Roy calls it ' A Triumph of Justice'.
Lalu calls it 'Socialistic Justice '.
CPM calls it the ' Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden '
Koffi Annan invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.
Many years later...
The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company in Silicon Valley, 100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India.
AND.... As a result of losing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the grasshoppers,
India is still a developing country!!!

Festival of Lights-Joy-Fun- Diwali 2007 Well Enjoyed
A full entertaining day it was, this diwali. And it's amazing to watch how Delhi celebrates Diwali, it's an episode in itself. With all the markets full of glitter, lights, people eating, shopping and more.... you can see the women folk enjoying to get their hands decorated with some elaborate mehndi designs in local market roadside sitting arrangements.

All this and more makes India and Indians to enjoy their lives and lead with those happy hearts. As I get to talk to people all over the world I have realized, indians are by far the happiest lot of people. With their own ways of facing the difficulties and still keeping that smile on face and acually getting satisfied and still craving for more and always ready for that extra mile to make things happen. I am proud being an Indian!

The UN-USUAL Scene in the evening sky over Forum!
Usual is to see long waiting queues of traffic in front of my office. Hosur road and surrounding areas. Well it takes me 5 minutes to walk down to my office. And if i drive by car it takes 15 minutes. Bangalore traffic is becoming pathetic day by day. And no solution seems to be in pipeline.
Unusual was the large number of eagles flying over the Forum and its vicinity last Friday evening. I was working in the office and suddenly my boss Liam called me out and asked me, why do you think these birds are so frantically flying all over the place? Well not just me, we were like 3-4 people and offcourse human nature prompted everyone with his or her own theory! This was a very strange thing which i saw for the first time. I don't particularly know why it happened, however, what sounded a good logic from Zafar was that, it became dark suddenly that night so the birds lost their time tracking mechanism.
Anyways, if you seem to know why it happened....do post in your comments.
Royal treatment on my Birth Day!

Royal treatment on my 25th Birth Day!I didn't expect the Royal treatment I got this 4th of july on my 25th B'Day. I turned 26. Yes the venue was Leela Palace, Bangalore. The location was Jamavar. Thanks to my wife who had done some pre-booking. I was impressed. We had fun time that night, I njoyed a lot. And i think we ordered food in excess as always. The aloo tikki dilli style was good, i relished it. The rest of the food was also delectable. With the enjoyment in the air, coz of Independence Day of America, there was hustle n bustle. And we could hear some fun party going on there. Overall good music and good ambience.
Cheers again and thanks to my biwi for this ossum treat!

College days part 1
Again I had an 8 guys group @ college and we used to go to various colleges all over India to attend the various Cultural and Technical fests…
I’ve been to BITS Pilani, IIT Delhi, NSIT Delhi, DCE Delhi, REC Jalandher, Thapar Patiala, PEC Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panipat…..and the list goes on
We were a mast group with guys who were best @Dance,music,quizzing,debating,JAM,skits,plays,singing,dancing,presentations,Literary events, marketing events…etc etc
We won a lotta event and used to collect a lotta certificates…J
Had a tremendous fun @collig…I was into Hosting, Organizing etc for various events…and even I organized Blood Donation camp in our collig…I was a regular Blood Donor so it struck me that I can organize the whole event…And even in Wipro I have consistently month after month won some prizes in extra curricular and hosted some events @Wipro Technologies level..!!!
In college I used to be a bit short tempered however from the time I have joined this job I have mellowed down. I have become very patient, I listen to others very meticulously and that has actually made me a mature and sensitive person. Now I don’t react to situations rather I respond to situations!
However sometimes if some1 really gets on my nerves then there r 2 options…either I’ll blast him/her or won’t talk to them ever!
Now don’t get scared…generally it doesn’t happen and I most of the time forgive people!!!
School Days 1
School days Part 1... No body can forget…I was in a day school so had the normal school going routine and had a nice friend circle in there and we used to have GR8 time @school as well as @home as we were a group of 5 guys(Sumit, Ajay, Deepanker, Piyush(he joined after 10th) and me) who were well to do and intelligent too…all IITians DCEians RECians…IIMs…All cool guys…and we use to Njoy a lot…
We use to meet up at any1s home for doing those holiday homework in summer holidays. And we use to generally eat at home as my mom is a gr8 cook, we used to play a lot and ya in the last week of summer holidays all those project making, charts n all…that was fun. I remember those days when teachers use to scold us while we use to munch our lunch before lunch time in the class. Not only our but also all the reachable
Then i remember that amazing incident tht happened with me, sumit and ajay...we bunked and went to Priya complex and unknowingly entered the Baskin Robbins(We all r 8th std kids so no ideas about the price menu and lil money in poockets) Ordered our fav ice cream scoops and drinks...happily waiting and overjoyed with the feeling of that cool delight that was gonna go down our food pipes...just then the reality snake bit us when the guy at counter started removing the plates in front of the prices mentioned there...and we all were looking equally dumb while watching that...oohhh in all our order was worth around 350 buks and what we all in toto carrying 400 bucks and we were supposed to watch a movie yet....
Suddenly GOD may b heard us or what...just then the came from inside and told that they have ran out of serving glasses and the sweat just rolled back from our foreheads as if we have actually eaten that cool
delightful icecreams...we all shouted in tandem okk no problems and thanking them just ran out of that place :)
After that we made sure that weare not listening to the costly ideas of Sumit...as this was his idea only....
I was OK in my studies usually I was in the 90% bracket so teachers were happy with me most of the times…science was my area of interest so took up science and engineering was the most obvious option after that…
but in collig I realized many hidden talents in me (ok am a Brag ) so thot of moving my focus area to be media/advertising but then marketing with expanding my horizons of knowledge recognized it soon that there is lotta opportunities in Technical Marketing or strategic marketing as they call it!So wud be pursuing my MBA some time after some gud 2-3 yrs work ex. Ryt now Njoying my life to fullest!

When???
Ok lemme start this with an engineer’s life....
RE-Wind....
School days...A smart intelligent guy generally likeable by all...popular among teachers and friends...njoying his life...
Suddenly one day the career light beacons on him after his 10th standard exams and he takes up the Science field as he is gud at that!
Now 11th std and 12th Std just pass by with no GFs in picture and just study and njoyment in mind...as the parents and teachers and all in family tells that these two years make or break
Sad story starts he din't get into IITs hmm then has to take up engineering in a Pvt Engineering collig...Was that sad??? Probably was when his friends got into IIt and other gud colligis...
Then this guy is again told u have to b serious in this 4 yrs as these will make or break his life...he has to get Honors in his degree and he has to get a nice Job...
This guys gets the whole gist that this is the time to build on his skills and he started building his communication skills to the extent that he can stand a massively audience alone! he tries to find a nice balance between Studies and Friends...studies go fine...but the friendship scene goes sad...as d gal don want any commitments as very far so can't b wid that gal for more time so...sad story...no relation…
But this guy gets honors in his degree and finally light of wisdom beacons on him saying that this in engineering field technical stuff is not for him...So he better get into management...and that crappy CAT paper he cudn't crack...and takes up a job in a nice company...Even after not liking the work he is managing the stuff!
But this time also he has a hard luck in getting a nice GF y??? Coz he is away from his friend circle...no known ppl in here....again sad story for him...
Now he has a gud paying job…most things he aspire for in place…and probably in the coming time he would be having whatever he has aspired for…his management dreams will also come true coz he is very focused….But the question is
When will he get a nice GF???
When??????

God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called!
Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way through a door marked: "NO ADMITTANCE."
When the house lights dimmed, and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that her son was missing. Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing." Then leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obbligato.
Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was mesmerized.
That's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music. But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful.
Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing. "Feel His loving arms around you. Know that His strong hands are playing the concerto of your life.
Remember, God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called.
Focussed on Goals...
"If you take your eyes off your goals, all you see is obstacles."

Real story that happened between the customer of General Motors and its customer-care executive..
This complaint was received by the Pontiac Division of General Motors :
This is the second time I have written to you, and I don't blame you for Not answering me, because I sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a Tradition in our family of ice cream for dessert after dinner each right.
But the kind of ice cream varies so, every night, after we've eaten, the Whole family votes on which kind of ice cream we should have and I drive Down to the store to get it. It's also a fact that I recently purchased a New Pontiac and since then my trips to the store have created a problem.
You see, every time I buy a vanilla ice cream, when I start back from the Store my car won't start. If I get any other kind of ice cream, the car Starts just fine. I want you to know I'm serious about this question, no Matter how silly it sounds.
"What is there about a Pontiac that makes it? Not start when I get vanilla ice cream, and easy to start whenever I get Any other kind?"
The Pontiac President was understandably skeptical about the letter, but sent an engineer to check it out anyway.
The latter was surprised to be greeted by a successful, obviously well educated man in a fine neighborhood.
He had arranged to meet the man just after dinner time, so the two hopped Into the car and drove to the ice cream store.
It was vanilla ice cream That night and, sure enough, after they came back to the car, it wouldn't Start. The engineer returned for three more nights. The first night, they got chocolate. The car started. The second night, he got strawberry. The car started. The third night he ordered vanilla. The Car failed to start.
Now the engineer, being a logical man, refused to believe that this man's car was allergic to vanilla ice cream. He arranged, therefore, to continue his visits for as long as it took to Solve the problem.
And toward this end he began to take notes: he jotted down all sorts of data: time of day, type of gas uses, time to drive back and forth etc. In a short time, he had a clue. The man took less time to buy vanilla than any other flavor.
Why? The answer was in the layout of store.
Vanilla, being the most popular flavor, was in a separate case at the front of the store for quick pickup. All the other flavors were kept in the back of the store at a different counter where it took considerably longer to check out the flavor.
Now, the question for the Engineer was why the car wouldn't start when it took less time.
Once time became problem - not the vanilla ice cream, the engineer quickly came up with the answer: "Vapor lock".
It was happening every night; but the extra time taken to get the other flavors allowed the engine to cool down sufficiently to start. When the man got vanilla, the engine was still too hot for the vapor lock to dissipate.
Remember: Even crazy looking problems are sometimes real and all problems seem to be simple only when we find the solution with a cool thinking.
Don't just say its "IMPOSSIBLE" without putting a sincere effort.
Observe the word "IMPOSSIBLE" carefully.
You can see "I'M POSSIBLE".
What really matters is your attitude and your perception.
Hang Onto Each Other
With great effort, his unfocussed eyes opened, then flickered shut again. The young man squeezed the aged hand in his and sat beside the bed.
Throughout the night he sat there, holding the old man's hand and whispering words of comfort. By morning's light, the patient had died. In moments, hospital staff swarmed into the room to turn off machines and remove needles.
The nurse stepped over to the young man's side and began to offer sympathy, but he interrupted her. "Who was that man?" he asked. The startled nurse replied, "I thought he was your father!" "No, he was not my father", he answered. I never saw him before in my life."
"Then, why didn't you say something when I took you to him?" "I realized he needed his son and his son wasn't here", the man explained. "And since he was too sick to recognize that I was not his son, I knew he needed me."
Mother Teresa used to remind us that nobody should have to die alone. Likewise, nobody should have to grieve alone or cry alone either. Or laugh alone or celebrate alone. We are made to travel life's journey hand in hand. There is someone ready to grasp your hand today. And someone hoping you will take theirs.
Remember To Hang On To One Another!
Only God Can Make a Perfect Heart!
One day a young woman was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that she had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired her heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young woman was very proud and boasted more loudly about her beautiful heart
Suddenly, an old woman appeared at the front of the crowd and said "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young woman looked at the old woman's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing. The people stared---how can she say her heart is more beautiful, they thought?
The young woman looked at the old woman's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," she said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."
"Yes," said the old woman, "Yours is perfect looking but I could never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love---I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.
Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of their heart to me. These are the empty gouges---giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"
The young woman stood silently with tears running down hers cheeks. She walked up to the old woman, reached into her perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. She offered it to the old woman with trembling hands. The old woman took her offering, placed it in her heart and then took a piece from her old, scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young woman's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.
The young woman looked at her heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old woman's heart flowed into hers. They embraced and walked away side by side.
Love cannot be wasted. It makes no difference where it is bestowed, it always brings in big returns!
"It's all in your attitude."

Whenever I'm disappointed with my spot in life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott. Jamie was trying out for a part in a school play. His mother told me that he'd set his heart on being in it, though she feared he would not be chosen. On the day the parts were awarded, I went with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her, eyes shining with pride and excitement. "Guess what Mom," he shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to me: "I've been chosen to clap and cheer."
***********************
A lesson in "heart" is my little 10 year old daughter, Sarah, who was born with a muscle missing in her foot and wears a brace all the time. She came home one beautiful spring day to tell me she had competed in "field day" that's where they have lots of races and other competitive events. Because of her leg support, my mind raced as I tried to think of encouragement for my Sarah, things I could say to her about not letting this get her down, but before I could get a word out, she said "Daddy, I won two of the races!" I couldn't believe it! And then Sarah said, "I had an advantage." Ah. I knew it. I thought she must have been given a head start...some kind of physical advantage. But again, before I could say anything, she said, "Daddy, I didn't get a head start...My advantage was I had to try harder!"

An Eye Witness Account from New York City, on a cold day in December: A little boy about 10 years old was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold. A lady approached the boy and said, "My little fellow, why are you looking so earnestly in that window?" "I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes," was the boy's reply. The lady took him by the hand and went into the store and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her. She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with a towel. By this time the clerk had returned with the socks. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes. She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him. She patted him on the head and said, "No doubt, my little fellow, you feel more comfortable now?" As she turned to go, the astonished lad caught her by the hand, and looking up in her face, with tears in his eyes, answered the question with these words: "Are you God's Wife?"

Most Important Part of body!
When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy." She said, "No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon."
Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." She looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind."
Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child."
Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to Grandpa. She asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?"
I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson."
She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears.
She said, "My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder." I asked, "Is it because it holds up my head?"
She replied, "No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it."
Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is sympathetic to the pain of others.
Essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter
"Honey, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river. "
The little girl said,
"No, Dad. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" asked the puzzled father.
"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go.
" Moral of the story: In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold yours.
