Digital Rape of Democracy in India
The recent elections in Karnataka, Bangalore proved to be another election where the Election Commision’s guidelines were not followed. This time around our political leaders got innovative with the digital media. They used Mobile Marketing or marketing through sending SMS to the prospective voters.
According to Election Commision’s guidelines the promotions should stop 2 days before the election dates. Till the last day of the elections there were SMSes floating on the purchased databases from Telecom providers. They kept promoting the candidatures till the last moment.
Isn’t it the “Digital Rape of Democracy”?

Maharashtra Violence - Rape of Democracy
When people in parts of India struggle to earn their meal, once a day, they struggle to get a clean glass of water and a shelter to sleep, there are some people, Raj Sena, who believe in promoting communal hatred and instigating violence and create unrest in country. The recent attacks against Biharis is a shameful act, these people are working hard away from their native homes just to live a simple life and make a living...but it seems its not getting down someone's throat.
The recent Maharashtra communal violence is another shameful act against democracy and shows how weak are the fundamentals in Indian politics. For ages we have faced the brunt of dirty politicians and today again we are seeing the open rape of democracy. When people were dying in parts of Maharashtra, was the government trying to contemplate whether they should take an action against the person who instigated this communal hatred?
It took them almost 1 week to arrive at a conclusion that the person behind this should be put behind bars and that too within hours of arrest; the person was released on bail. It’s not that this doesn’t happen in other parts of the world, but its unfortunate and I feel ashamed of the fact that I am part of this system. These individuals who have been trying to overshadow constitution and law should be brought to justice. What is the government waiting for, some more deaths?

Gujarat riots - Shame, Disgrace,Genocide or Dictatorship
Recent sting operation by Tehelka exposing the Gujarat government's machinery's involvement in fuelling the riots, as well as the brutal involvement of Hindu fundamentalist groups in executing the same is a sheer shame, disgrace and a clear case of genocide.
Having said that it makes me wonder is it what i just mentioned or is it the clear case of Dictatorship in a Democratic country? Is it the same India which calls itself Secular? Are we the same Indians who call ourselves proudly as Secular and Democaratic?
Strangely I don't know whether people would want to continue to stay in a state where the people can't trust the government, police, and other agencies.
The real shame is that after 4 years of actual riots we get to know about the truth and still the government is in power and no one seems to take any action on it?
So it's like we are secular and democratic country but just for one incident please excuse us ,as it was a public outrage. Wow what a logic which came from the government...
I feel sad about such incidents, the only hope is that there are agencies which are still working to expose such henious crimes. I thought if not anything else I should voice my opinion through this medium.
